We’re back on the Sustain Podcast for the second time! In this episode, we discussed the details of the “Open Source Public Funding experiment” with Richard Littauer and Leslie Hawthorn.
We started the conversation by reiterating our main proposal for open source funding: gradually redirecting resources from proprietary to open source software by adding an “Open source tax” on the sale of proprietary solutions.
We then touched on our recently launched experiment, which aims to demonstrate how public funds should distribute collected tax revenues to open source initiatives in a data-driven, scalable way.
